Washington - Day 7 & 8

Washington - Day 6

September 9, 2016

Recovering from our late night/early morning at Ruby Beach, we had nothing short of an easy day planned for us.

The only two items we had scheduled were: 1) Head into Seattle, and 2) Walk around Discovery Park.

After spending the last few days hiking with a 45lb backpack on, walking around with a small sling bag, camera, a 50mm lens, and water bottle was like heaven.

We navigated through Discovery Park, ending up at the West Point Lighthouse and garnering another breathtaking view of Mt. Ranier.

Once we grabbed some dinner, we got to packing as we prepared for our flight the next day, taking us back to the other side of the country.

Washington was nothing like I had imagined. It was nearly impossible to go anywhere without having your jaw drop to the ground.

From endless mountain ranges and glacier lakes, to rain forests and volcanoes, everywhere we looked, we were blown away.

I'd say our first trip to the PNW was a huge success. With over 65 miles hiked and over 6500 total miles traveled, I most certainly cannot wait for the chance to head back and do it all over again.
